Biography

Ryutaro Uchiyama is an interdisciplinary behavioral scientist whose work bridges human evolutionary biology, computational neuroscience, and cultural psychology. He is currently on the faculty of the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Prior to joining SUTD, Ryutaro conducted postdoctoral research at the Tübingen AI Center in Germany and in a joint position between Nanyang Technological University and Cambridge University’s Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES). He obtained his PhD from the London School of Economics, an MA from Cornell University, and a BSc with highest honors from the University of Lethbridge, Canada. Before these qualifications, he worked in the creative sector and trained as a spatial designer in Tokyo, Japan.
