Biography

Andrew YEE is currently Assistant Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. His research interests lie in the intersection between digital technology and human development. His current work examines youth digital media use, where his team is using screenomes to better understand and dissect smartphone use. He is also working on understanding what aspects of media use contributes to preschoolers’ school readiness. These projects aim to explore how message design, technology, and digital media can be harnessed to positively affect children’s development.

He has published widely in leading academic publications, such as Internet Research, Behavior Research Methods, Journal of Health Communication, Computers in Human Behavior, Health Communication, the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking, the International Journal of CommunicationFrontiers in PsychologyVaccine, the International Journal of Advertising, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Communication. His research has also been internationally recognized, receiving the Top Faculty Paper Award in the Game Studies Division of the International Communication Association (ICA) Annual Conference, the Top Faculty Paper Finalist in the Mobile Communication Division of the ICA’s Annual Conference, and other awards at the DC Health Communication Conference and the Asian Congress of Nutrition.
